HENLEY PROPERTIES HOME OF HOPE
FOR NEONATAL WARD

Prestige home builder Henley Properties and Australian rock music legend Jimmy Barnes are teaming up to help make a dream come true for the Neonatal Ward at the Flinders Medical Centre.

In an extraordinary display of generosity, prestige home-builder Henley Properties has donated a two-storey, four bedroom home which is currently being built at Quinliven Road, Aldinga.

The Henley Properties Home of Hope, as it will be known, will be sold at a no-reserve auction on October 16 to raise money to purchase vital neo natal incubators and equipment for the Flinders Medical Centre.

Australian rocker and father of four, Jimmy Barnes has also generously agreed to be the patron of the Henley Properties Home of Hope by lending his name, his valuable time as well as his song "When Something is Wrong With My Baby" which features in the advertising campaign.

Henley Properties Home of Hope is the first of five homes that Henley Properties will be donating to the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation over the next five years.

Media supporters Channel 7 Adelaide and Mix 102.3, who have donated airtime and promotional support throughout June to October as a lead up to the auction, will drive the campaign.

Flinders Medical Centre is the second largest maternity hospital in South Australia and each year, the Neonatal unit cares for over 700 sick and premature babies. 200 of which are admitted to Neonatal intensive care.

Flinders Neonatal Intensive Care unit is only one of two in South Australia. Babies admitted are critically ill or very premature and require breathing support, close monitoring or intravenous feeding. While cared for by expert staff, sophisticated machinery is often required to monitor and support these newborn’s progress.

Deborah Heithersay, FMC Foundation General Manager says the sale of the Henley Properties Home of Hope will help make Flinders' dream come true.

"The money raised from the sale of this amazing home at Aldinga will enable us to purchase vital neonatal incubators and equipment needed to look after the tiny babies that are admitted into the neonatal ward on a daily basis.

"New equipment like the incubators will provide the most sophisticated and state of the art equipment for the care of these sick and premature babies in the neonatal unit".

The style of home being built as the Henley Properties Home of Hope is coincidently called the Flinders and a display home of the Flinders can be seen at Marine Place, Seaford Rise. It is currently open Monday, Wednesday and weekends from 11am to 5pm.

The Henley Properties Home of Hope is currently being built on Quinliven Road at Aldinga, will be open for viewing from early September on weekends from 1.00pm to 5.00pm.
