Project: The Reach Foundation
What happens when you put Melbourne’s biggest home builder and footballers in a room together to help the youth of Victoria? A luxurious home in the heart of leafy middle Brighton.
Late last year, Jim Stynes one of the founders of the Reach Foundation met for the first time with Peter Hayes, the founder of Henley Properties, Melbourne’s biggest home builder.
The purpose? A brainstorming session to raise funds for Reach.
The result? Arguably one of Brighton’s most prestigious new homes.
Jim and Peter enlisted the services of Anthony Ingerson (ex Melbourne Footballer) who in turn enlisted the services of the Hocking Stuart group to scour Melbourne’s most prestigious bayside suburbs for an appropriate site for the charity home.
The result, 7 Collins St Brighton.
The Clendonvale Team of Designers and Builders, another Henley Company was commissioned to design and build a luxury home doing justice to the location.
The home has all the luxury fittings and features that you would expect in one of Brighton’s most prestigious streets which will ensure that maximum proceeds can be raised for the Reach Foundation.
The four bedroom home featuring a grand master suite with the addition of a separate dressing room comes complete with luxury fit out. The additional three bedrooms are exceptionally large, complemented by a powder room on both levels of the home. The gourmet kitchen would satisfy the most demanding chefs with granite bench tops in kitchens and integrated Miele appliances.
The spacious family/living/entertaining area at the rear of the home has been designed to capture the best of the natural light. With soaring 3 meter high ceilings, cellar, and an architecturally landscaped, eco-friendly garden including swimming pool and spa, the new home owner will find themselves living in the lap of luxury.
The amazing location of the home also promises an unbelievable lifestyle with the home being in walking distance of the beach, Church St, and the cafe lifestyle.
Peter Hayes, Managing Director of Henley is delighted to provide this opportunity to the youth of Australia in addition to the other 41 homes which Henley have donated to charities around Australia. To date raising over $13 Million.
Peter believes ‘if our collective efforts can change even one person’s life, then it’s all worth while’.
The funds raised from this auction will go directly towards supporting Reach programs, helping Reach participants Australia-wide to gain the confidence they need to achieve their dreams. It is expected that the house will provide an enormous benefit to Reach and resulting in an increase of nationally-run programs in more locations, allowing more young people to come and experience what Reach is all about.
Reach co founder and CEO, Jim Stynes says “this project has the capacity to make a huge positive impact on young people locally and across Australia, Reach is excited to be partnering with Henley and Clendonvale to make a difference in our community”.
Reach seeks to build young people’s confidence and self-esteem, in order to prevent negative emotions and destructive behaviors that can lead to problems such as alcohol, drug abuse, delinquency and suicide.
Peter Kennett, Director of Hocking Stuart Brighton added – “Hocking Stuart is very proud to be donating our time and services to Reach which is the most deserving of charities. We’ll be working hard on this project to ensure a great result for Reach”
The home will be auctioned on Saturday the 27th of October at 11.30 am. The home will be open for inspection each Saturday and Sunday leading up to the auction from 2pm to 4pm, and Wednesdays between 5pm and 6pm.
