Project: Henley Properties - Royal Children's Hospital Charity Auction
The streets of two VicUrban estates burst to life on Good Friday with lively bidding at house
auctions raising $818,500 for The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
This means a total of more than $7.6 million dollars raised over a 14 year period in which
house and land packages have been donated by VicUrban, Henley Properties Group, their
sub-contractors and suppliers for the sick kids of Victoria.
The no reserve auctions drew a record crowd of over almost 1,300 onlookers and bidders at
VicUrban estates Tenterfield in Burnside Heights and Cairnlea. This year purchasers
received a bonus home package worth in excess of $30,000 including a BBQ and outdoor
furniture.
Better Homes and Gardens personality Rob Palmer joined in the excitement to watch the
winning bidders secure a great buy televised live on Channel 7’s Good Friday Appeal
telethon.
The new homebuyers have bought luxury four-bedroom homes ‘The Ascot’ by the Henley
Properties Group located among VicUrban’s most popular communities of Tenterfield and
Cairnlea in Melbourne’s north-west.
VicUrban CEO Pru Sanderson thanked all the tradespeople and suppliers who donated their
time, energy and resources to the project.
“VicUrban is proud of its 14 year involvement in the Good Friday Appeal with Henley
Properties, their sub-contractors and suppliers. This is an example of how the building
industry can join forces and make a difference for sick kids.
“VicUrban’s commitment to providing sustainable communities helps to ensure our children
grow in a thriving, happy and healthy environment,” said Ms Sanderson.
Henley Properties Managing Director, Peter Hayes, said: “Henley is delighted to once again
support the Appeal through our charity auctions. We chose ‘The Ascot’ because it features
superb design, outstanding neighbourhood appeal and, thanks to the generosity of subbies,
suppliers and friends of Henley Properties, a host of other quality features.”
The proceeds of past Good Friday Appeals helped the Royal Children’s Hospital become
one of the leading children’s hospitals in the world which is great news for all Victorians.
