Sunrise Children's Village

Sunrise Children’s Village
Sunrise Children’s Village is an orphanage located in Cambodia and was set up back in 1993 by Australian Geraldine Cox. Geraldine has now acquired another orphanage in Siem Reap, which she has titled Sunrise Angkor Children's Village. This orphanage is home to many children whose parents or other family members have been killed or maimed by land-mines, died of hunger or disease and often targeted for murder because of their political affiliations. When these children are rendered homeless, the villagers sometimes make every effort to care for them, but more often than not, they are taken into homes and used as slave-labour in return for food and a place to sleep until their plight is brought to Sunrises attention.

How has Henley helped?
Henley’s sponsorship is equivalent to the sponsorship of 17 children who live at the orphanage. The children are between the ages of 2 and 18 and have been living with Geraldine for a large percentage of their lives. With our support the children can now live a secure life where their medical, educational and social needs are met.
